Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she released additional music on the internet including Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. Later that year her music circulated all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music clip was released, followed by a music video September. On November 9, she released two additional singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On the 13th of November two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single in February 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. The track was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over three million times over the first 7 days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
