Ky-Mani Marley was born February 26th, 1976 in Falmouth Jamaica. He is among the most wealthy and popular Reggae artists. He was in Shottas, a cult film with Wyclef. Ky-Mani recorded his first album, Like Father Like Son in 1996. It was then followed by Dear Dad", which reached number 1 in charts in the British chart of reggae. In 1997, Ky-Mani formed a band along with Praswell (Fugees) on Avenue an acclaimed cover that was a cover of the song by Eddy Grant Electric Avenue. Marley was a guest at Midem (international music festival) during its time in Miami in the very first time. In the Cameo Theatre Marley performed a show that was broadcast live by the Caribbean News Agency to 36 countries. Marley's name was soon the focus of a bidding war. He joined Gee Street/V2 Records.
